Urban Bellies... web update

Hey everybody!

We loved all the comments we got on both our blog and facebook fan page recently from Beth's Urban Belly session. Just in case it was the first time you had heard about our Urban Belly shoot (as far as I know, since we developed this ourselves, we are the only ones offering this) we thought we'd give you some background about it.

In late 2006 we had a client contact us about taking maternity portraits. At the time, everyone in the world of photography was doing nude or half nude pregnancy portraits, with the client wrapped in sheets or her husbands hands....we knew that was not our style. So we brainstormed about how we could create something new and fresh, but maintain out dramatic, sexy style. That's when we decided to take it "Urban"!

Our brainchild, Urban bellies, was created to make pregnant women feel good about themselves, feel sexy again, feel glamorous! The juxtaposition of a feminine pregnant belly among dirty, downtown streets yields the perfect maternity portrait in our eyes! I must give credit to Mere, as she was the brains behind this creation...she's so smart! :)

Finally, we've recently revamped our Urban Bellies website. Check it out by clicking the screengrab below. And if you know a good candidate for an urban belly session, feel free to send them our way!

Talk to you soon,
Dale

  3. I've always loved this concept. I know that Pinkletoes, out of Austin, has a similar 'not-traditional' maternity session. I think your Urban Bellies is a little more high fashion than hers. These are gorgeous images.
