Giving is Awesome WINNER!

Merry Christmas Eve!

One of my favorite things to do in this world is give back. I've been fortunate enough to give again. This time, the winner gets a 1000 bucks worth of professional images, and the nominator gets 500 bucks worth of prints.

When I posted this last week, I prepared myself for overwhelming stories, which I received. It was really difficult to choose. Many families were so deserving. But when I read over Kristin's (our Jan09 bride) letter, I really felt called to help.

Dale and Mere,

First off, I think this is such an amazing gift you’re giving. I can’t thank the two of you enough for all the amazing things you do.

The people I’m nominating for the free gift are Jessica, Chance, and Jayger. I’ve known Jessica since elementary school, and she’s always been a very kind and sweet person. Jessica is a first grade teacher at Lavaca Elementary. Jessica and Chance were expecting a baby boy to be born in December of this year. Baby Jayger had other plans though. Jayger was born three months early on September 17 weighing only 1.6 pounds. Since his birth, Jayger has been in NICU in Fort Smith, except for a short stay in Little Rock for an operation at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Jayger was just released from the hospital December 12 and is going to be home for the holidays. Baby Jayger is truly a miracle. I don’t think there’s a better gift than capturing the memories of a family, especially when they came so close to losing their firstborn. I also think they’re deserving because having family photos taken is probably the last thing on their list of things to do because of the hospital bills and such.

Overall, Chance, Jessica, and Jayger have survived a very rough time, and I believe they deserve to have something nice done for them to commemorate their family.

Congratulations, Jessica Chance and Jayger! I wish your family such a wonderful, warm, and healthy Christmas. I can't wait to meet you and photograph your sweet family.

Merry Christmas!
