Today's post will only have one picture but with this one single picture comes a million thoughts, prayers and emotions. Try to follow me here.
Meet Luke. He was our super cool groom last Saturday. Luke and his bride Holly have been planning their wedding for well over a year now. Everything was set to go until two weeks before the wedding when Luke's brother Cole died unexpectedly. Like most brothers, Luke and Cole were great friends and Cole was supposed to be Luke's best man. It was hard for Mere and me to hear as we both have siblings that we're super close to (love ya bro!).
A few days before the wedding we had a chat with Holly about what the day would be like. During that conversation she asked if I'd be willing to meet Luke at his brother's grave. This gave me butterflies to think about, I think my voice even cracked a little. I knew it was gonna be intense, but I also knew how much it would mean to Luke to have pictures with his brother.
It proved to be a very special moment. After we photographed the entire group of guys, I felt that Luke wanted a couple alone with his brother. His best man.
And finally, the shot I have for today is a final look back that Luke gave Cole before heading off to meet his bride. It's a very touching moment that I'm glad I caught, and one that reminds me of the power photography can have.
