Favorite Bible Verses...

Hey everybody!

Kelly Stamps is a friend of ours who writes the wildly popular Kelly's Korner Blog.  I'm sure you already read it.  If you don't, you're probably from South America or something, so welcome!  She has a weekly feature, Show Us Your Life, and gets a bazillion comments where people share the selected topic, like "Show us your laundry room."  Well, no thanks.  But this week I have to play along.

This week is "Favorite Bible Verses" week.  I have a million favorite bible verses, but I'm going to TRY to narrow it to my top of the top faves.

First, my very favorite all-time verse.  Seriously can make me cry if I think about it long enough.
“Be still, and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10

I used to have this on a post-it in my car for nearly two years until it became habit.  This verse has helped me through a lot.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6

For almost 10 years I was involved in YoungLife either as a staff member or volunteer leader.  I totally believe that if you want to share the Lord with someone, they have to know that you care.  You do that by sharing yourself.  It was such a motivation during my years in YoungLife (and still is).
"We loved you so much that we shared with you not only the gospel, but our own lives, too." 1 Thessalonians 2:8

This is such a beautiful thought.  Particularly because I was a pretty rough kid at points in my life.  I love thinking that my slate has been wiped clean, leaving no trace of the mistakes of my past.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17

This makes it easy to deal with fear.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."  Joshua 1:9

That was much harder than I thought it would be.
What are yours?

Talk to you soon,
Dale
