Adopting Isaiah: A Special Father's Day Post

Hey everybody!

Today I get to share a touching story with you.

Ronna and her husband Johny adopted Isaiah.
This is Isaiah.

Isn't he the most precious child?

Isaiah was born 10 weeks prematurely and was in the NICU for four-and-a-half months.

When he was two and a half weeks old, Isaiah got an infection that is one of the highest causes of preemie fatalities. Isaiah's infection required surgery, and his parents were told he probably wouldn't make it through the surgery and that, if he did, he would have serious, life-long complications.
Isaiah had other plans.

I asked Isaiah's dad if he could share some words about being a dad (I'm really happy he did, because I'm sure it's hard to put your feelings out on a blog that thousands of people read, so THANK YOU Johny!)

from Isaiah's dad: This is my first Father’s Day outside of the hospital because we adopted Isaiah as a preemie and he had severe complications. The most amazing part of being Isaiah’s dad is how fun and good-natured he is after everything he’s been through. He has completely changed my outlook on life. When I get home at the end of the day, and he scoots across the floor as fast as he can to me so I can pick him up and toss him in the air, it makes me realize how lucky I am to have him."

Today, being a father has an even more special meaning for me, for Johny, and hopefully for all the dads out there who read this blog.

(ARE there any dads who read this blog? I know there are thousands of moms! Dads... leave a comment below, will ya?)

Here's to Dads, Daddys, Papas, and Fathers everywhere!
Talk to you soon,
Dale
