Tour de Fun: Have fun and Give Back!

It’s Wedding Season – Get Active and Give Back!

Hey everybody!

I’m so excited to be a guest blogger today!! Dale and Meredith beautifully captured my wedding five
years ago (seriously 5 years?!?!) and I have since then been honored to be a Benfield follower and friend.
Anyway, Dale has given me the great opportunity to reach out to all of you in a somewhat different
blog post than you usually see. I wanted to let you know of a fun way for you and your soon-to-be-
hubby to have some outdoor fun (burn some calories, get a tan) and give back to NWA teenagers at the
same time! It’s called the Tour de Fun, and it’s happening on Saturday, June 15th, in Downtown Rogers.
This event has gotten better and better after six years and we’re excited about a great turnout for our
biking and running events. All proceeds benefit local teens through the Teen Action & Support Center

Here’s the low-down on what’s available. Our 5k walk/run/stroll is a great fit for anyone. Being a new
mom, I’m not an intense runner right now, but I’m looking forward to strolling in this event with my 1-
year-old. However, if you ARE a competitive runner, the 5k will be timed and there are awards to be

We also have three different bike routes for varying experience levels. If you’re new to biking, we have
a 10k route that tours Historical Downtown Rogers. If you’re an intermediate rider and ready for a
challenge, the 50k offers a bike route out to Hobbs National Park and back. If you’re a seasoned rider
and ready for a long, rewarding ride, the 100k is for you.

Also, if you know any kids, get their parents to bring them out, too! On top of being able to participate
in any event, they can also take part in our very first Little Tike Ride for the itty-bitties. They can race
their own trikes or rent one for $5.

So what does this crazy day support, anyway? Well, I’m glad you asked. To be brief, it benefits an
organization called TASC. TASC offers free support services to teenagers and their families. If teens are
going through death, divorce, or other challenges, TASC provides counseling. If teens find themselves
pregnant and need help to get on their feet, TASC offers a resource and education program. If teens are
in need of basic necessities like clothing, hygiene items, school supplies, TASC has a resource program to
help them. And finally, TASC offers a community service program through which teens can give back to
Northwest Arkansas and take care of others in need.

Here’s a quick video:

I hope to see you all out there on June 15th! Grab your beau and your fellow brides and make a morning
of it!

Much love,
