I'm so excited to share that Elizabeth and Cole's wedding has been featured today in Belle the Magazine! This whimsical, elegant wedding is one of my all-time favorite Houston weddings. My very idea from Elizabeth and Cole's wedding is that they played You've Got Mail over a projector during the reception. How fun!
Here are some of the highlights from this Houston wedding:

I think I post every year on this day because it's such a special day.
My sister was such a huge influence on my life growing up. She's a special girl with a huge heart. Her husband paid the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and I couldn't be more proud of my sister for her ongoing sacrifice that she and my two nephews endure. Memorial Day is a day to live life fully, but also to remember those who make it possible, and those families who sacrifice so that we may all live a free life.

It has been so fun walking down memory lane with y'all! So far I've shared highlights of the first 7 and a half weddings of 2016 with you. They've had some incredible wedding details, so if you missed that post, just scroll down and catch up and be inspired!
Today's post will hopefully be equally inspiring! Let's get started!
Beautiful details for a Southern wedding at Marlsgate Plantation:
Then I was back in Fayetteville for a wedding. Claire and Mike were married in Fayetteville with the reception at the Fayetteville Country Club. Here are some of their details:
Claire is such a stunning bride. I shot some of her bridal portraits at Pratt Place Cottage:
I love these moments during wedding receptions:
Their reception at Fayetteville Country Club was just perfect, with help from the team at Bates-Reed Events.
The next weekend I was in Fayetteville again for Michelle and Chase's wedding and reception at Fayetteville Town Center. Here are some of their details. Pretty and dreamy.
This bride was the epitome of beauty and grace.
Leaving the wedding to streamer wands is such a great photo opportunity!
While the Alys Beach wedding in the other post was one of my favorite wedding venues of the year, I think this one might top it! I'm a California boy at heart, I think, because of that amazing California light. I photographed Morgan and Jon's California wedding at Woodland Hills Country Club and became obsessed.
The Woodland Hills Country Club outside L.A. is a dream venue. It literally reminds me of Tuscany Italy. These details might show you why I loved this L.A. California wedding venue so much!
I spy Kris Allen (American Idol winner) performing the ceremony at Woodland Hills Country Club. He is a personal friend of the bride and groom, and became a friend of mine during the weekend!
Here's one last image from the wedding at Woodland Hills. This is pretty much my signature style all in one image. I love that Benny Backlight.
My next wedding was at Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, AR. This location is always an easy day because the lighting is exceptional pretty much everywhere I look. Here are Kristen and Grant's wedding details at Crystal Bridges:
And their first kiss as husband and wife at the twin bridges at Crystal Bridges:
I love their use of lights hanging outside and their edison bulbs hanging in the reception. This couple understands and loves lights just like their photographer does. :)
And then finally, the wedding I just debuted on the blog recently: Caitlin and Brian's wedding and reception at the Living Arts of Tulsa.
Such cool Tulsa wedding venue and cool couple.
I love this fun reception dance picture:
And once again, let's end on a bride and groom getaway:
Once again, I'm so thankful for all the places 2016 has taken me this year. Weddings in L.A. California, 30A Florida, Tulsa, Dallas, etc. Upcoming this year, I've got an Aspen wedding, an Alaska wedding, and other fun spots! Come along with me!

Each year, I have a goal to photograph 25 weddings (I keep it limited so I can continue delivering great customer service to my wonderful couples) and this year I tried to stop at 25 but actually booked a a few more because these brides were too good and I couldn't bear to turn them away. So I've shot 14 weddings thus far, marking the halfway point of 2016. Isn't that a good time for a review? I think so! This might turn into a mega post!
Alexis and Jarrod's wedding was so unique. Only once before had I photographed a first-ever-in-life kiss between a bride and groom. This created such a unique energy and excitement in the room as the couple said their vows. And once they had their very ever first kiss, the guests erupted with applause.
Next up was a 1/2 wedding day. What I mean by that is that Bree and Robert had a private wedding around Christmas time in Texas, but wanted me to photograph their reception at Pratt Place Barn. I've become friends with this couple since then so it's really neat to look back at this dance shot of the two of them...
February was a huge month for me. Normally a low-wedding month, I typically take it off as a time to regroup, refresh, and get all the behind-the-scenes stuff ready for the upcoming season (instead, I did this in December and January). The month started with one of the most jaw-dropping receptions I've ever photographed. Kayln and Tyler's reception in Helena, AR, was absolutely a winter wonderland. Ice inspired wedding details were everywhere, right down to her blinging Christian Louboutin shoes.
Along with one of the most detailed and incredible wedding cakes I've ever seen:
How about this FIERCE wedding party with some Benny Backlight:
Next up, another couple I've become close with since the wedding... Sloane and Zach Hocker. These two invited me along for everything, treating me as a friend on their wedding weekend, which by that time I was! I love my clients, especially genuine and fun clients like these two.
I mean, how beautiful is Sloane...
Okay, they both are pretty nice looking:
Oh, and once again, Louboutins make an appearance: (y'all... my brides have such great style!)
This girl is going to take L.A. by storm soon - if you're one of my L.A. brides and need a hair or makeup girl (or even if you're not my bride!), reach out to Bonnie Argo. She's fab!
Another exceptional bridal party:
And of course I have to put a picture from that one time I flew away from the reception in a helicopter. What????
Shay Mooney from Dan + Shay belted out some killer songs with Backroad Anthem during the reception No big deal.
Still in February... what a good month... I headed to Dallas Texas for a wedding at Chapel at Ana Villa for Mallori and Zach. It was another breathtaking ceremony and reception. Seventy Bazillion flowers made an appearance.
The Chapel at Ana Villa is one of my favorite Dallas wedding venues. Such a dream!
I literally can't. This ring bearer and flower girl stole my heart. And the show. How precious are they?
Such a lovely couple.
Then I was off to Big Cedar for my next wedding. Integrity Hills and the Stables at Big Cedar were the location for this wedding, which was planned beautifully by Shawna Young.
What a happy couple!
It seems like I've been traveling everywhere this year, doesn't it? I have, and I love it. My clients bring and take me to the best wedding venues in America. My next wedding was an elopement at Alys beach on historic 30A in Florida. Check out this portrait of Ashley, my precious bride:
And of the bride and groom on Alys Beach. There are a lot more Alys Beach wedding portraits here.
And the actual beach ceremony was very touching...
Lastly, I'll end this wedding recap post with Rosie and John's rustic Pratt Place Barn wedding. These details are the very definition of stylish rustic...
Haha... I love the departure shot of the bride and groom...
Okay! I'll be working on the next part of my half year in review and will post it soon!
Thank you to all my Benfield Wedding clients. I am so thankful for you all, truly!
Have a great weekend!
